2025 sure was a year. I was happy, I was sad. I made mistakes. I hurt people I care about. I learned to forgive myself. I made memories, and of course.....I gamed.
I missed this. Putting my thoughts down through written word....well....typed word....but you know what I mean. Usually I just podcast, which is great and I love doing it, I love talking, surprising nobody. But I really missed this. So it will be more common. I'm coming back baby! 2026 will see the blog come into its own and become another way to enter the curious mind of a strange gamer, myself. "How?" You might be asking. Well let's get into my goals for the year!
GAMING
Let me start by saying, these are goals that I would naturally like to accomplish. That being said, if I don't manage to accomplish them IT'S OK. Let me say that again, IT'S OK IF YOU DONT ACCOMPLISH YOUR GOALS, TRYING IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART. Ok, now into the goals.
Play at least 52 indie games
A stipulation I have for this is most games will be 10 or less hours to beat, and most of those will be 7 hours or less. I love games that say and do what they want without over staying their welcome or trying to last too long. Indie games are amazing, and I want to spend more time with them.
Beat all mainline Tomb Raider games
I counted, there are 12 mainline games right now, 13 as of later this year, and 14 when Catalyst releases next year. I've only ever beaten the Survivor trilogy and want to dig into the series more. The list of games are 1, 2, 3, The Last Revelation, Chronicles, The Angel of Darkness, Legend, Anniversary, Underworld, 2013, Rise, and Shadow.
2 goals. Should be somewhat simplish. I'm a numbers person, so I looked up How Long To Beat for every game on this last. If I play 1 indie game a week and 1 tomb raider game a month (I know, I will need to play an extra TR game, don't worry about that right now), it will take me roughly 30 hours a month to accomplish this goal. That may seem like a lot, but I love to game. Many indies will be played on Switch and ROG Ally, and I have an hour lunch break at work where I can play them. I've got this, and you'll be along for the ride with me, I'll make sure to talk and blog about my progress every month.
CONTENT CREATION
I love creating content, if even 1 person partakes in a stream, podcast, or anything else I create, it's all worth it. Streams won't be touched here, I'm honestly happy and ok with where I am with streaming. Though 1 will have a major impact with streaming, so let's start there...
Begin my journey as a Vtuber
Yep, you've read that right, I'm going to be a Vtuber. There are so many things going against Vtubers right now, whether it's the stigma against them, or platforms actively going against them, so why am I doing it? Easy, I want to. I would rather create content the way I want, even if it's harder. So this spring I'll be looking into getting everything I need in order to start my Vtubing journey, and I'll tell you right now, my model will look kinda like Leon Kennedy (OG RE4 version) in a nice suit, as a vampire.
At least 1 Blog, Podcast, and YouTube video every month.
Technically this is 3 but I'm putting them all together. Look, I would LOVE to promise more than that, but besides all of that, I also stream 3 days a week, work full time, and spend time with family. There absolutely may be more than 1 of something every month, but it will be at least 1. I miss writing, so the blog is back! I love podcasting, so that's not stopping, and I want to do YouTube videos because it's easier to consume on your time than needing to be there right away. I love love love creating content, and I'm tripling down on that in a way.
